Detroit Auto Show – Part 2
I wrote about the best cars which are in production or are production-ready from the Detroit Auto Show in my last post (check it out in case you missed it!). Now we’ll look as some of the best Concept cars from the Show!
1. Subaru Impreza Sedan concept
After being showcased previously at the Tokyo Motor Show and the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Subaru Impreza Sedan concept was shown at the Detroit Auto Show. The concept will hopefully look as appealing when its production ready. What will go under the hood hasn’t been revealed yet. It puts the “wide and Low” design philosophy to display. The concept’s roof line is sloping, and the corners and character lines are more contoured. Its got some great looking hawk-eye headlights, a larger and more elegantly designed grille-mounted emblem and black-and-red fan-blade wheels. See the pics!
2. Nissan Titan Warrior concept
When Nissan unveiled the Nissan Titan at the Detroit Auto Show last year, on the first look everyone could notice the similarity to the Ford F-150. And why not? The Ford F-150 has been the class leader for a really long time. And anybody trying to get into this market would be definitely referencing it first for design cues that have been a success. This year’s Nissan Titan Warrior Concept too faces a similar case. It looks really similar to the Ford F-150 Raptor. For images of the Raptor look at my previous post.
3. Acura Precision concept
The Acura Precision concept was built specifically with the aim to be showcased at the Detroit Auto Show 2016. After the NSX, the Acura design team has been playing around with more specific styling as the Precision concept’s end goal is to define the news styling that will be adopted by all the Acura models soon. It is larger than the NSX in may ways – wider than the NSX by almost eight inches, height four inches more than the NSX. Its got deeply cut sides, debuts the brand’s aggressive “Diamond Pentagon” front grille which is a definite relief from the Acura grille we’ve seen for quite some time. The grille perfectly compliments the “Jewel Constellation” LED headlamps. I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
One more point to note after looking that the futuristic interior on the Precision concept – Acura believes that the future human-machine interface (HMI) will have the ability to scan each occupant in the car to load their personalized settings for music, maps and vehicle performance.
4. Buick Avista concept
There’s not a single thing in this Buick that doesn’t look awesome on its own. The Avista might not be currently confirmed to go in to production but it will definitely be the cue to the design of all future Buick cars. It’s got powerful grille, wing-shaped head- and taillights, lean and muscular character line. The wait for the new Buick cars won’t be long, as the next-generation Regal mid-size sedan is due within the year, and a new Enclave crossover won’t be far behind.
